Role: Transactional Construction Projects Lawyer
Location: Scotland

The Opportunity: Our client's Construction and Engineering Group is expanding and seeking a talented transactional (non-contentious) construction lawyer with 4-8 years' PQE to join their team. This role involves working on renewable energy projects primarily across the UK and internationally. While the preference is for the candidate to join the Scottish team, all UK office locations will be considered. Team Structure: The Construction team is the largest in the world, recognized as a leader in construction law with a significant presence in the energy sector. Key partners are based in Scotland, but the team operates on a national and international basis. The team is consistently ranked Tier 1 in Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners for construction, energy, and infrastructure in Scotland.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and drafting of competition documentation
  • Conducting legal research using internal and external knowledge management resources
  • Assisting in the preparation of legal articles
  • Liaising with clients under the supervision of a partner
  • Developing own informal internal and external network of contacts
  • Building excellent working relationships with clients and peers within the firm
  • Attending business development and profile-raising events (client seminars, graduate recruitment activities)

  • Experience in a large commercial firm, in-house legal team, or local authority
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
