My client, a top global law firm, is actively recruiting for a Qualified Associate to join them on a permanent basis in their London office – working as their new Senior Risk Lawyer.
Their Risk & Compliance team is mainly based from the London office and consists of the Head of Legal Risk, Risk Lawyers, AML/Sanction Lawyers, Compliance Manager, Compliance Officers, Assistants and Researchers. They do have additional Risk & Compliance team members in other offices, such as Asia and Australia.
As the successful Senior Risk Lawyer, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Assisting the Partner and COLP with daily queries regarding the SRA Code, Standards, Best Practice, Ethics, Conflicts, Financial Crime, etc
- Regularly updating the Professional Standards Manual and Partner guide
- Drafting policies and procedures in regard to changes to the regulatory law in any of the jurisdictions the firm operates within
- Reviewing data protection policies and procedures (on an annual basis)
- Analysing conflicts reports and advising on complex conflict issues
- Writing and amending terms of engagements with clients

To be considered for this new Senior Risk Lawyer opportunity, you’ll need to have/be the following:
- Be an England & Wales Qualified Associate (minimum of 6 years’ PQE)
- Have a minimum of three years’ experience within legal compliance from an international law firm
- Have experience within Financial Crime (essential)
- Have detailed knowledge of the SRA Handbook
- Be able to commute to the London office (3 days a week)
- Be able to work to deadlines and in a pressurised environment
- Have excellent written legal skills and the ability to draft and review policies/procedures
