My client, a global law firm, is actively recruiting for an experienced Qualified Lawyer to join them on a permanent basis in their London office – working as their new Risk Lawyer.
They’re a sector-focused global law firm with offices across the world – Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia.
Working in the London based Risk & Compliance department (led by the London based Risk & Compliance Partner), you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Drafting policies and procedures to take into account changes in regulatory law in any jurisdiction the firm operates within
- Creating and keeping a risk register up-to-date
- Regularly updating the firm’s Professional Standards Manual
- Providing general support on numerous queries regarding SRA Code/Professional Standards/Best Practice/Ethics/Conduct/Conflicts, etc
- Advising on AML and Sanctions issues
- Drafting/reviewing/negotiating terms of engagements with Counsel, Foreign Lawyers and experts

To be considered for this Risk Lawyer opportunity, you’ll need to have/be the following:
- Be a Qualified Lawyer (a minimum of 5 PQE), ideally within Litigation, Insurance or Data Protection
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience within compliance from an international law firm
- Have detailed knowledge of the SRA Handbook
- Have knowledge of AML and Sanctions
- Ideally, have experience of providing training and dealing with complaints
