Private Funds Associate (1–4 years' PQE)
London – Top Tier Firm – Permanent Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Private Funds Associate with up to four years’ PQE to join a highly successful and collaborative Private Funds practice, supporting one of the firm's major clients.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to work closely with a major client across a broad range of private funds matters, including private equity, private debt, venture capital, infrastructure, and real estate funds. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing day-to-day client support, coordinating multi-jurisdictional regulatory advice, and maintaining essential client knowledge bases. You will also work closely with paralegals and a senior legal project manager to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery.

The Team
The Private Funds team is well-established and market-leading, consisting of a large, supportive group of Partners, Counsel, Associates, Trainees, and Paralegals. They are known for advising on innovative fund structures, hybrid models, and supporting institutional asset managers and private capital managers across a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Act as lead Associate on ad hoc and day-to-day matters for a major client.
Manage and direct client queries across Legal, Compliance, Governance, Tax, Finance, and Operations.
Provide and coordinate regulatory advice on private funds matters.
Draft and negotiate key legal documents, including placement agent agreements.
Supervise dedicated paralegals and ensure client portals and trackers are maintained.
Support cross-practice matters such as M&A transactions and secondaries.
Assist with client relationship management and know-how.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated Associate who meets the following criteria:
Up to four years’ PQE from a leading institutional private funds practice or an in-house private capital environment.
Strong experience with private funds (private debt preferred), private equity, venture capital, infrastructure, or real assets.
Committed to delivering first-class client service with strong commercial awareness.
Confident communicator and strong team player.
