Our client, a leading international law firm, is looking for a Litigation Associate to join their Cayman team. This role offers a chance to work on diverse and high-profile cases while supporting the growth of a dynamic and forward-thinking litigation practice.

Role Overview: As a Litigation Associate, you will work closely with Partners, Associates, and Paralegals, taking on significant responsibility across a range of contentious matters. You will provide top-tier legal support, appearing in court, working directly with clients, and contributing to the firm’s strategic growth initiatives. This position offers a collaborative work environment, while allowing you to take ownership of tasks suited to your level of experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality legal input, including researching, drafting, reviewing, and preparing court documents.
  • Handle client communications and prepare cases for court, including appearances as an advocate on suitable applications.
  • Manage matters independently and efficiently, taking appropriate responsibility for client work.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives within the litigation team and across jurisdictions.
  • Work with, and delegate to, paralegals as part of an efficient team structure.
  • Adhere to firm policies and procedures, ensuring risk management and compliance at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Cayman Islands, UK, or other Common Law qualification with 3-5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Strong litigation experience with a focus on contentious matters.
  • Excellent drafting, research, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of research platforms, document management systems, and Data Rooms.
  • Understanding of financial disciplines related to time recording and billing.
