Large prestigious law firm based in the City of London are looking for a Design Brand Manager to join their inhouse creative team. This will be a 12-month maternity leave contract which could be extended. The firm are looking for someone to join the team who can take the lead on how they evolve and implement their new global brand. This position will be a true brand guardian, this is a role that plays a crucial part in ensuring the brand is implemented consistently while allowing for necessary flex to support the business. You will need to create innovative design solutions to support key, high profile projects and initiatives. And you will oversee design agencies and support international colleagues in delivering high quality materials that meet and extend the firm’s brand guidelines.

To succeed you will need to be organised, good at networking and influencing others. And you will need to be strategic, creative and an expert graphic designer.

As Brand Manager you'll advise Marketing and Business Development colleagues and fee earners from across the firm to ensure the brand strategy, tone of voice and visual style are all managed and implemented effectively.

Reporting into the Global Head of Marketing, Brand & Communications, you will work closely with a Senior Designer to form the Brand Team and partner on projects with colleagues in Events, Internal Communications, Digital Channels (including web and social) and Marketing.

You will also collaborate with the global IT and Facilities teams to help develop and sign-off the brand across internal digital channels and office environments. And you will be invited to join infrastructure and IT project teams as the brand advisor.

This position will be offering a generous annual salary of up to £65,000 per annum and will be working on a 50/50 hybrid working basis.

Key responsibilities will include:

o Some tasks which come into the Brand Matters inbox are managed internally by the Brand Team. This can include you personally designing a wide range of materials such as brochures and flyers in InDesign,

event banners, interactive PDFs and more.

o Some tasks are outsourced to external agencies, in these instances the projects needed to be managed by the Brand Team to ensure the same high level of stakeholder management and design is provided and that costs and workflows are managed effectively. As Brand Manager you will oversee the central design agency relationships.

· Providing design direction to colleagues across the firm and their external agencies and they implement the brand, managing training as required.

o Leading the development of the firm’s templates for key materials such as brochures, branded emails and other marketing materials

o Providing creative input, direction and layouts for improvements and developments of the firm's website, internal communications, events and marketing activities.

· Working with the external agency and internal IT teams to maintain the Word and PPT templates, managing enhancements and new releases as required.

· Working with internal colleagues to co-ordinate a seamless ordering system for the firm’s printed materials, including branded items, brochures, business cards, etc. Liaising with in-house print suppliers/print room to maintain a high-quality in-house print solution in conjunction with Facilities colleagues.

· Ensuring regular updates to the brand asset library in all formats and make suggestions for improvement where possible.

This is a role for someone ideally already working as a Brand Manager, or for a Senior Designer who is looking to move into more of a management position, who enjoys being a hands-on designer when required. You should be passionate about good design and brand, that passion should energise you and those around you, while never being a barrier to practical and commercially savvy solutions.

Required skills and experience:

· At least 5 years working as a senior graphic designer with experience of working within brand identity guidelines or as a corporate Brand Manager.

· Excellent working knowledge of Adobe layout and design software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Knowledge of web/digital platforms would be an advantage.

· An in-depth understanding of the key elements of both print-production and the production of online media.

· The gravitas to supervise more junior members of staff and be the design and brand leader.

· Experience of successfully managing design agencies, printers and other suppliers.

· Good working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

· Structured and process driven mentality combined with an excellent eye for creativity and new ideas.

· Ability to work well under pressure and manage expectations where priorities conflict, and to negotiate and assess where compromise is possible.

· A team player with the ability to establish a rapport and credibility, and to remain diplomatic but firm and resolute on brand positioning.

· A 'can do approach, knows the importance of providing quick and timely responses to queries.

· Understanding of different cultures and their way of working.
