The Opportunity: Join our client's ambitious Corporate Finance team, ranked Band 1 in Chambers for mid-market M&A, yet also working on transactions with Magic Circle and leading US firms. The team is seeking a 2-4 year PQE associate with experience in private M&A transactions, joint ventures, and corporate reorganisations. You will receive early responsibility and involvement in business growth, within a collaborative and supportive culture that values performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and draft clear, concise corporate and transaction documentation.
  • Negotiate transaction documents and provide commercially-minded legal advice as part of the client’s deal team.
  • Liaise with clients, specialist lawyers, and service providers to manage transactions.
  • Build excellent working relationships with clients and peers within the firm.
  • Develop a network of internal and external contacts.
  • Participate in and contribute to business development and profile-raising events such as client seminars and graduate recruitment activities.
  • Conduct legal research using internal and external knowledge management resources.

Candidate Profile:

  • Background in a firm with an excellent corporate reputation and broad transactional experience.
  • Strong private M&A skills and technical abilities.
  • Ability to work within a growing, ambitious, and entrepreneurial team.
  • Capable of acquiring, consolidating, and applying up-to-date legal knowledge.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and good housekeeping/file management practices.
  • Resilient, cooperative, and collaborative, able to handle setbacks and pressure.
  • Proactive, professional, and self-aware, with a commitment to self-development.
  • Lateral thinker with an understanding of the firm’s market position and differentiation.
  • Excellent academic and professional qualifications.
