Our client is an international law firm with offices in key financial centres which include London, New York and Washington, to name a few. The have top ranked practice areas across an international platform and offer great opportunities for training and professional development of staff. 

They are currently seeing to recruit a Accounts Manager on a contract basis to join their team in the London office. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly payroll and pension contributions for the London office.
  • Coordinate with the payroll company for monthly payroll, P11d, and PSA submissions.
  • Oversee accounts payable coordination with Accounts Payable Cashiers.
  • Handle client account processing, reconciliation, and ensure SRA compliance in collaboration with the Senior Cashier.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations for both office and client accounts.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Conduct monthly general ledger reviews and monitor reconciliations, resolving any issues promptly.
  • Serve as the point of contact for auditors during SRA and statutory audits.
  • Maintain banking relationships and ensure adherence to all firm banking policies.
  • Assess and communicate the status of all processes, task assignments, and related records management to the U.S. office. 

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; chartered accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK accounting principles and regulations, including SRA rules and Inland Revenue requirements.
  • Experience with financial software, preferably Aderant or similar legal accounting systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
